Terms of use.

MeetMate helps users discover and organise swim meet information. It is not the organiser or entry authority for the competitions listed.

What MeetMate provides

MeetMate is an independent information and planning service. It may provide event listings, dates, venues, entry-deadline information, links to official pages and documents, an AI-assisted event interface, saved-meet tools, calendar exports, a public Community board and a private issue-report channel.

MeetMate does not organise the listed competitions, accept competition entries, determine eligibility or qualification, allocate heats or lanes, control venues, or decide whether an event will proceed.

Check official information before acting

Meet information can change after publication. Before entering an event, travelling, booking accommodation, paying fees or making another material commitment, check the current information published by the organiser, relevant swimming body or authorised registration provider.

Where MeetMate and an official source differ, the current official organiser information and final competition documents should be treated as authoritative.

MeetMate AI

MeetMate AI is an optional convenience interface designed to answer questions from event information available to MeetMate and, when live responses are enabled, may perform limited website actions such as showing a set of meets, opening a meet, saving a meet on the device or opening the calendar. Live AI responses may be paused or unavailable without affecting the underlying meet archive and planning tools.

AI-generated answers and actions may misunderstand a request, omit information or reflect data that has since changed. The assistant must not be treated as the competition organiser, an eligibility decision, a confirmed entry, a qualifying-time ruling, or a substitute for current official meet information. If the requested fact is not available in MeetMate, users should check the linked official source rather than rely on an inference.

An AI action that saves, opens or displays a meet changes only the MeetMate interface or local planning state. It does not submit an entry, make a payment, reserve accommodation, contact an organiser or create any other external commitment unless the user separately chooses to do so through the relevant third-party service.

Calendar and saved-meet tools

Saved meets are a convenience feature stored locally on the user's device. Calendar exports and third-party calendar links are planning aids only. A calendar item does not confirm an entry, reserve a place, guarantee an event date, or replace later changes published by the organiser.

Community board

The Community board contains user-submitted public messages. A user may post without a display name, in which case the message is shown as Anonymous. User messages do not represent MeetMate, an organiser, a swimming body or another person unless that relationship is expressly confirmed.

By posting, you confirm that you have the right to submit the content and allow MeetMate to display it as part of the Community board. Do not post spam, unlawful material, impersonation, threats, harassment, personal attacks, another person's private or sensitive information, or content that infringes another person's rights.

MeetMate may hide or remove a message where reasonably necessary to operate or protect the service, enforce these terms, respond to a complaint or legal obligation, or reduce spam and abuse. Community posts should never be treated as official event instructions or relied on instead of current organiser information.

Issue reports

The Report an issue channel is provided to help MeetMate review possible errors, broken links or outdated event information. A report does not itself change a listing. MeetMate may verify the report against official or reliable sources before making a correction.

Do not use the issue-report channel for urgent competition decisions or to submit unnecessary sensitive personal information. Current organiser information remains the appropriate source for immediate decisions.

Third-party content and links

MeetMate links to websites, documents and services operated by third parties. If live AI responses are enabled, an external AI API may also be used to process AI requests. Those third parties control their own content, availability, entry systems, privacy practices and terms. A link or reference does not by itself mean that the third party sponsors, endorses or is affiliated with MeetMate.

Names, logos, event documents and other third-party material remain the property of their respective owners where applicable. MeetMate's references to them are for event identification, source attribution and access to official information.

Accuracy and availability

MeetMate aims to publish information that is traceable to credible sources and to avoid filling uncertain fields with guesses. Even with those checks, information may be incomplete, delayed, superseded, incorrectly extracted or temporarily unavailable. AI-generated explanations, when enabled, can also be incomplete or mistaken.

The service may be changed, suspended or interrupted for maintenance, source changes, technical problems or other operational reasons. MeetMate does not promise uninterrupted availability or that every eligible meet will be listed.

Responsibility

You are responsible for checking current official information before relying on a MeetMate listing, AI response or Community message. MeetMate is not responsible for loss caused by outdated, incomplete or incorrect third-party event information, AI-generated responses, user-submitted Community messages, third-party services or temporary service interruptions.

Acceptable use

You may use MeetMate for normal personal, family, club and competition-planning purposes. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation or security, submit information you know to be false, use automated access in a way that materially disrupts the service, attempt to bypass reasonable usage controls, or use MeetMate to infringe another person's rights.

Applicable law and changes

These terms are governed by New Zealand law. MeetMate may update these terms when the product, legal requirements or operating model changes. Material changes should be reflected on this page with an updated date.
